Make Your Own Saline Mix

Just this year I purchased a NeilMed Sinus Rinse Kit because I have allergy problems and it affects me breathing properly at night.  It is a great product to have for clearing the nasal passage.  It is from a company called NeilMed. The only problem that I have is that the little premixed packages that comes with the kit runs out quickly.  Buying a replacement box of those premixed packages can be expensive.  I think that they are close to $8 for a box of 50 from Walmart.  After careful research, I found that you can make the saline solution at home with products that you probably already have in your kitchen.

Saline Solution Mix:

1/4 tsp non-iodized salt

1/4 tsp baking soda

Add salt and baking soda to:

8oz bottled or distilled water (or used boiled tap water)

It is best to microwave bottled or distilled water to warm it up.  Not hot.  If boiling tap water, make sure to allow it to cool to a warm temperature.  Pour saline solution mix into 8oz of water and mix.
